I have been tempted to get my concealed carry; New Mexico is a "shall" state. My only concern, is I will end up on a registry somewhere. Is this true? Am I being paranoid?
Tried to be a little more discrete and carried this little Smith & Wesson Model 36 .38 Special, in an inside the waistband rig.
Not too good~not enough room inside my waist bands. So, tried a paddle holster:
That's not too comfortable, either, like having a wooden plank inside my jeans. So, tried one of those belt slides awhile:
O.K. but really didn't like the muzzle protruding. Then came this one:...
I read all these forums about jumping thru hoops and FOID cards, classes, ect, just to be able to do something that is pretty much guaranteed by the founders. Even the whole felon thing is a relatively new concept. Used to be when you got out of jail ( if you were not hung that is) you got your gun back and a few bucks to get a meal and a horse. No photo ID to vote! It is a constitutional right so why do we need ID? Wonder why the same rules do not apply for the purchase of a gun? It is a right too isnt it? How about the moron states that say you have to have their permission by way of a FOID card? Thats just a TAX and another tax for the purchase, another...
Been a member a while but have not contributed anything, I'll lay low and absorb the knowledge, looking at a semi-automatic that fits my novice skills, hand-fit and conforms with the oppressive laws of Mass.
I'm working on securing my CCW here in Massachusetts aka LTC-A (License to Carry Armed)
Took the required training in January, filled out my paperwork for the Chief of Police to review and submit to the State for further review and approval, it will be about 8 to 12 weeks before a licenses is issued. They have been hammered with double & triple the number of applications compared to a year ago after all this talk in the State houses and in Congress about limiting our natural rights protected by the Second Amendment
Anyhow looking forward to getting active with firearms this spring and regular range time reports to follow.:thumb:
